In Telangana, over 890 candidates have filed 1488 nomination papers for all 17 Lok Sabha Constituencies for upcoming elections. The elections are set to witness multi-cornered contests in some constituencies as a large number of aspirants filed their nominations till yesterday on the last day for filing nominations. Of them, a large number of over 600 nominations have been filed yesterday alone. Many independents have also filed nominations. The numbers will be more specific once the Election officials release final figures from all 17 constituencies. As per the initial reports, Malkajgiri topped with 151 nominations including an independent followed by 114 in Nalgonda and 103 nominations in Bhongir.
Meanwhile, 24 nominations have been received for the bye-election to Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly constituency.
