Election Commission Announces Dates For Maharashtra Legislative Council Constituency Elections

The Election Commission of India has announced the elections for the Maharashtra Legislative Council Teachers and Graduate Constituencies. According to a press release the elections are being held for four seats namely Mumbai Graduate, Konkan Division Graduate, Nashik Division Teacher and Mumbai Teacher Constituency and for this polling will be held on Monday, June 10.
 
Vilas Vinayak Potnis (Mumbai Graduate Constituency), Niranjan Vasant Dawkhare (Kokan Graduate Constituency) Kishore Bhikaji Darade (Nashik Division Teachers Constituency) and Kapil Harishchandra Patil (Mumbai Teachers Constituency) are retiring from the Maharashtra Legislative Council on 7 July 2024. Therefore, the commission has announced the election program for two teacher constituencies and two graduate constituencies.The release stated that notification for this election will be issued on 15 May. Candidates can file applications for this election till May 22, 2024.  While the scrutiny of the applications submitted by the candidates will be done on , 24 May. The deadline for withdrawal of candidature is 27 May. The release informed that voting for these four constituencies will be held on Monday, June 10,  from 8 am to 4 pm. Counting of votes will take place on June 13. The entire process will be completed on June 18.
