The Attingal Loksabha constituency in Kerala is one of the 20 constituencies in Kerala, that will go to polls in the second phase on 26th April along with all other constituencies in the State. With just 2 days left for voting, campaign in Attingal Constituency is in full swing. The three major political fronts, ie BJP lead NDA, congress lead UDF (United Democratic Front )and CPI(M) lead LDF (Left Democratic Front ) are intensifying their campaign.

Akashwani correspondent reports that the Attingal constituency in Thiruvananthapuram district in Kerala is one of the tightly contested Loksabha constituency in the State. 7 candidates are in fray for the Loksabha seat. The main contest is between the NDA candidate and Union Minister V Muraleedharan, the UDF candidate and sitting MP Adoor Prakash and LDF’s V.Joy, MLA from Varkala Assembly Constituency. Preparations for the polling are in the final leg in Attingal. 1423 polling stations are there in the constituency. The total number of voters are 13,96,807. Attingal’s political history has been marked by unpredictability. In the 2019 General Election, Adoor Prakash from UDF defeated A. Sampath from LDF. CPIM Leader Sampath had won the seat in both 2014 and 2009, pushing UDF to second place. The UDF secured a vote share of 37.87% in 2019, while LDF garnered 34.07 Percentage. The Bharatiya Janata Party also made significant strides, with Sobha Surendran boosting the party’s vote share from 10% to 24% in 2019. This time all the three major fronts had intensified their campaign with frequent presence of National leaders and Star campaigners. While the UDF tries to repeat their victory in Attingal, LDF sees this  as a crucial battle to reclaim the seat. Meanwhile, the NDA candidate is hoping that the Central Govt initiatives will ensure chances of victory, making the contest more tight in Attingal.
