Indian Benchmark Indices End Higher For 5th Consecutive Session

Indian benchmark indices ended higher for the fifth consecutive session on Thursday led by buying across the sectors barring realty. The BSE Sensex jumped 486.50 points or 0.66 percent to close at 74,339, while the Nifty-50 rose 168 points or 0.75 percent to close at 22,570.

In the forex market, the rupee ended marginally lower at 83 rupees and 32 paise against the US dollar today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, Gold futures for June contracts were trading around 71,066 rupees per ten grams. Silver futures for July contracts were trading around 82,440 rupees per kilogram when reports last came in.

In intra-day trade, Brent crude was trading at 88 dollars and 02 cents per barrel.
