In US, protest has been going on in Columbia University campus. The development is a part of larger wave of campus protests across the country against Israel’s actions in Gaza. According to reports, Negotiations between the protesters and the college came to a standstill in recent days.
The UN’s top human rights official has expressed concern over heavy-handed steps taken to disperse and dismantle pro-Palestinian protests across university campuses in the US. The UN agency said, hundreds of students have been arrested. Many have subsequently been released, while others still face charges or academic sanctions.
