In the third phase, polling will be held in 11 constituencies in Maharashtra when around two crore voters will decide the fate of 258 candidates. Preparations are in place for polling to be held across Baramati, Raigad, Dharashiv, Latur (SC), Solapur (SC), Madha, Sangli, Satara, Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Hatkanangle. These constituencies have 23,036 polling centres of which 114 are considered critical.
Akashwani Correspondent reports The third phase will see one of the most crucial and high-profile fights in the Baramati constituency where NCP(SP)’s Supriya Sule is pitted against her sister-in-law Sunetra Pawar, an NCP candidate. In Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg, Union Minister Narayan Rane is contesting against sitting Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Vinayak Raut. In Raigad, NCP State President Sunil Tatkare will be up against Anant Geete of Shiv Sena (UBT). In Sangli, a triangular contest will be seen among BJP’s Sanjay Patil, rebel Congress candidate Vishal Patil and Chandrahar Patil of Shiv Sena (UBT). In Satara and Kolhapur, two descendants of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj are in the fray. While Udayanraje Bhosale is contesting on a BJP ticket from Satara, Chhatrapati Shahu Shahaji is a Congress candidate from Kolhapur.
