J&K: VDG Member Injures In Firing Incident In Udhampur

In Jammu and Kashmir, a village defence guard (VDG) member was injured in a firing incident in a remote village in Udhampur district early today. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the firing incident was reported from Panara village of Basantgarh area when a patrolling party of VDGs confronted some suspiciously moving persons, believed to be terrorists, hiding in a Gujjar Dhok in the Dahu forest area. The terrorists have likely fled from the area after the incident. However, reinforcements have been rushed to the area and further details are awaited.
