J&K: Over 10.39% Voter Turnout Recorded In Initial 2 Hours Of Polling In 5-Jammu Parliamentary Constituency

In Jammu and Kashmir, over 10.39 percent voter turnout was recorded in the initial two hours of polling in the 5-Jammu Parliamentary Constituency in a peaceful manner. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that till 9 AM 13.53 percent polling was reported in 56-Gulabgarh (ST), 14.13 percent in 57-Reasi, 12.72 percent in 58-Mata Vaishno Devi, 1.53 percent in 69-Ramgarh (SC), 8.56 percent in 70-Samba, 12.30 percent in 71-Vijaypur, 11.44 percent in 72-Bishnah (SC), 5.67 percent in 73-Suchetgarh (SC), 8.17 percent in 74-R.S Pura Jammu South, 10.46 percent in 75-Bahu, 10.26 percent in 76-Jammu East, 12.27 percent in 77-Nagrota, 9.37 percent in 78-Jammu West, 10.93 percent in 79-Jammu North, 12.31 percent in 80-Marh (SC), 14.24 percent in 81-Akhnoor, 10.52 percent in 82-Chhamb and 11.00 percent in 83-Kalakote-Sunderbani assembly segments. 
 
 
 
Long queues were witnessed exercising their franchise across the constituency with enthusiasm, especially among the new voters amid tight security arrangements. Across various assembly segments of the parliamentary constituency, voters were seen standing in queues much ahead of the scheduled time for polling. Earlier, mock polls were conducted successfully in all the polling stations.
