Election Department Of Chandigarh In Collaboration With Dev Samaj College For Women Organizes A Sensitization & Awareness Program Focused On PWDs In College Premises

The Election Department of UT Chandigarh, in collaboration with Chandigarh’s Dev Samaj College for Women organized a sensitization and awareness program focussed on Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the college premises in Sector 45. The program witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of more than a hundred students and faculty members. The session shed light on the various provisions and facilities available for PwD voters during elections. 
 
 
 
Attendees were informed about the accessibility measures, including ramps, wheelchairs, priority entry to polling stations, braille-enabled electronic voting machines, and pick-drop services. The team of Nodal Officers for PWDs, UT Chandigarh, also apprised the audience about voter-centric applications launched by the Election Commission of India, such as Voter Helpline, Saksham-ECI App, and CVIGIL. They urged students to leverage these platforms and actively participate in the electoral process as responsible citizens.
