Campaigning Intensifies For Lok Sabha Poll In Karnataka

Karnataka is witnessing an intense election campaign for the May 7th Lok Sabha poll in 14 constituencies. Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Narendra Modi will hold a public meeting today in Bagalkote.
 

Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge will address public meetings in Raichur, Yadgir and Kalaburgi districts today. AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will address a rally in Sedam for the party’s Gulbarga candidate.
 

In another development, the Hassan MP and grandson of JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda, Prajwal Revanna has been booked for sexual harassment and stalking.
 

Based on a complaint by a woman who worked in Revanna’s house, the Holenarsipur police have booked the case for sexual abuse, stalking, threat and insult caused to the modesty of a woman.
 

Chamrajnagar MP and former Union Minister V Srinivas Prasad passed away due to age-related ailments in Bengaluru early this morning. He was 76 years old.
 

The BJP leader started his public life as a volunteer of RSS and later as an active member in Jan Sangh and ABVP. He contested 14 elections, winning eight of them. He is six-time Lok Sabha MP from the Chamrajnagar constituency. He was Union Minister in the Vajpayee cabinet from 1999 to 2004. He had served as Revenue minister twice in the state.
