Akashvani Kolkata Celebrates Rabindranath Tagore’s Birth Anniversary

Akashvani Kolkata celebrated the birth anniversary of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore today, 25th day of Baishakh of Bengali calender, with festivity and gaiety. Rabindranath Tagore’s statue was garlanded and office was decorated.
 
Various programmes are being broadcasted from the morning in Bengali, Hindi and Urdu languages. Famous Rabindrasangeet duo Manoj Murali Nair and Manisha Murali Nair were guests in a morning programme.
 
Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7th May of 1961 at Jorashanko Thakurbari of the then British ruled Kolkata. Bengalis across the world including Bangladesh celebrate 25th day of Baishakh of Bengali calender as his birthday, instead of the English calendar day.
