16 Maoists Surrender In Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur District

In Chhattisgarh, 16 Maoists have surrendered in Bijapur district. These Maoists have surrendered before Bijapur SP and senior CRPF officials.
 
These Maoists are accused of being involved in many Naxalite violent incidents including murder, looting, kidnapping and road blocking. A reward of about Rs 16 lakh was declared on these Maoists.
 
These Maoists have surrendered after being influenced by the rehabilitation and surrender policy of the Chhattisgarh government.
 
On surrendering, these Maoists were given an amount of twenty-five thousand rupees each as incentive under the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the government.
