India’s Mens Team Beat Argentina In Shoot Out In FIH Pro Hockey League In Belgium

Indian men’s hockey team defeated Argentina 5-4 in shootout after both teams were locked at 2-2 at the end of regulation time in a FIH Pro League match in Antwerp, Belgium. In the shootout, skipper Harmanpreet Singh and Sukhjeet Singh scored twice each with Abhishek being the other scorer.
 
Earlier, Mandeep Singh  and Lalit Kumar Upadhyay scored two field goals for India, while Argentina found the net from penalty corners through Lucas Martinez  and Tomas Domene.
 
Indian men’s team will take on hosts Belgium tomorrow in the European leg of the Pro League.
 
The Indian women’s hockey team started their European leg of the FIH Pro League 2023/24 with a 0-5 loss to Argentina last night.
 
In the opening quarter, India focused on maintaining ball possession and controlling the game’s pace. However, Argentina responded with intense pressure, earning multiple penalty corners, but they were unable to capitalise due to some excellent saves by Indian goalkeeper Bichu Devi Kharibam. Later they could not restrain them. The Indian women’s hockey team will next take on Belgium today.
