Senior BJP Leader Amit Shah has expressed confidence that India will be among the top three economies in the world during the third term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing a public rally at Porbandar in Gujarat today, Mr. Shah credited Mr. Modi for historic decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370, the construction of the Ram Temple, the successful tackling of the menace of terrorism and naxalism, and bringing peace to the country. Mr. Shah criticised the Congress party for polarising policies and vote bank politics. He hailed Narendra Modi for revitalising the existing pilgrim centres in the country. He also expressed confidence that the BJP will emerge victorious on all 26 seats in Gujarat for the third consecutive term. He highlighted that it was only the BJP government that helped address the water crisis in rainfed areas of Gujarat and brought prosperity to the State.

On the other hand, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra addressed a rally at Dharampur in Valsad district today, where she criticised the BJP government for its injustice towards the poor and tribal people over the last 10 years. She stated that if the Congress party comes to power, it will allocate a special budget for tribal people and work for the welfare of the poor, farmers, and downtrodden as guaranteed in its manifesto. She also promised to provide employment to 30 lakh unemployed youths in the country and ensure 100 days of guaranteed employment in urban areas, similar to MNREGA in rural areas. She also attacked the ruling party on critical issues such as inflation and unemployment.
