Heatwave conditions continue to prevail in the South East peninsular region covering parts of Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Karnataka. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the region has recorded maximum temperature of 43 to 45 degree Celsius. It said that heatwave conditions are also likely to prevail in Saurashtra and Rajasthan. Talking to Akashvani News, Senior IMD scientist, R.K. Jenamani said that the heatwave situation in Eastern India has completely abated. He further added that heavy rainfall and thunderstorm is forecast for Eastern and North-East India for the next two to three days.
