BJP National President J.P Nadda has said that the Central Government paid the highest attention to security and stability in the country. Speaking at a roadshow in Surpura in Karnataka on Friday, he said that the national interest, and the welfare of farmers, youth, Dalits and tribals were some of the priorities of the Centre. There is a by-election for the Surpura assembly segment and Mr Nadda campaigned for the BJP candidate Narasimha Naik today.
On the other hand, Congress senior leader Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally in Vijayapura which is part of Bijapur Lok Sabha constituency. Speaking on the occasion he said, Agniveer scheme will be abolished and the old system to recruit soldiers will be reinstated and GST will be restructured to ensure higher share of taxes to the states if the I.N.D.I.A. government came to power.
