A thirteen-member delegation from Nepal, led by Mr. Bhuwan KC, Executive Chairperson, Film Development Board, and Mr. Gajendra Kumar Thakur, Chairperson of the Nepal Censor Board, visited the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) office, in Mumbai today.
This visit aims to develop a close working relationship between the film development and film censor authorities of both countries.
The CEO, CBFC Ms. Smita Vats Sharma elaborated on the process of film certification across various languages in India and highlighted the provisions allowing filmmakers to interact with the board during the process of certification. She also detailed the digitization efforts in the certification process, which aim to minimize manual interaction.
MD, NFDC Mr. Prithul Kumar discussed potential avenues for cooperation in the film production sector and detailed measures that can be taken to attract production companies to shoot in Nepal.
