In Sri Lanka, the overall rate of inflation as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index increased to 1.5 per cent in April 2024. Sri Lanka’s Department of Census & Statistics (DCS) said the CCPI-based inflation which was at 0.9 per cent last month saw a small increase primarily due to increase in non food prices. The broader inflation based on National Consumer Price index for March was recorded at 2.5 per cent The NCPI based inflation figures follow the CCPI by a 21 day gap.
