In Sri Lanka, the Kumbhabhishekam at Seetha Amman temple – Seetha Eliya will be held today. About 25 litres of Saryu water has been flown in from Ayodhya for the ceremony in addition to 5000 laddoos from Tirumala Tirupati Temple. On the occasion, devotees from several parts of India and Nepal have joined those in Sri Lanka as the temple is part of the Ramayana trail. Spiritual leaders, members from Vishwa Hindu Parishad, World Ramayana Conference, and devotees from Ram temple in Ayodhya will be part of the ceremony. Seetha Eliya or Ashok Vatika is believed to be the location where Sita was kept hostage by Ravana.
