Secretary (Consular, Passport, Visa and Overseas Indian Affairs) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Muktesh Pardeshi represented India at the High-Level Conference in Amman on ‘Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza’ today. External Affairs Ministry said the conference was co-hosted by King Abdullah-II of Jordan, President of Egypt President Abdelfattah Elsisi and Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres.
The Secretary highlighted India’s ongoing humanitarian, capacity building and developmental efforts. India’s development assistance to Palestine over the years has reached close to 120 million dollars. As part of its annual commitment, India would be disbursing an amount of two and a half million dollars to India’s development assistance to Palestine over the years has reached close to 120 million dollars. As part of its annual commitment, India would be disbursing an amount of 2.5 million dollars to UN Agency for Palestine Refugees for relief works soon.
