The holy Ashura, commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain ibn Ali, a grandson of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad, is being observed today across Bangladesh with due religious solemnity. Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahbuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages on the eve of Ashura, paying deep respect to Hazrat Imam Hussain and other martyrs of Karbala. Shia community members will bring out a Tazia procession in Dhaka on the day. The Tazia procession will start from Imambara Husaini Dallan in Old Dhaka.
