KP Sharma Oli took oath as the new Prime Minister of Nepal today along with 21 Ministers from four parties in the freshly brewed alliance. President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy.
72-year-old CPN-UML chairperson K P Sharma Oli took oath of Office and secrecy today after Pushpa Kamal Dahal was ousted from power on Friday. In the swearing-in ceremony that took place in the President’s office Sheetal Niwas in Kathmandu, Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire, were present among other dignitaries.
President Ramchandra Paudel appointed KP Sharma Oli to the post of Prime Minister on Sunday as per Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
There are two Newly appointed Deputy Ministers today, one from the Nepali Congress Prakash Man Singh and another from CPN-UML Bishnu Prasad Paudel. Both new Deputy Prime Ministers were sworn into their offices. Along with the post of Dy PM, Prakash Man Singh was appointed as the Urban Development Minister and Bishnu Paudel was appointed as Finance Minister.
President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed 21 ministers amidst this ceremony. The Oli-led cabinet now includes ministers from NC, UML, Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP).
