The Embassy of India in Riyadh, in collaboration with the Saudi Yoga Committee and the Ministry of Sports of Saudi Arabia, yesterday organized an International Seminar on Yoga as part of the 10th International Day of Yoga celebrations.
The seminar was presided over by the Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan. President of the Saudi Yoga Committee and Padma Shri awardee Nouf Al-Marwai, and President of the International Yoga Sports Federation Rajashree Choudhary, were the Chief Guests at the event.
Ambassador Khan spoke about the expanding popularity of Yoga practices worldwide and its significance for both personal and societal well-being. Other speakers discussed various Yoga-related topics, including its promotion in the Gulf area, its potential for future wellness, its effectiveness in treating psychosomatic diseases, and its development as a competitive sport.
The event also featured documentary screenings on the history of Yoga and the International Day of Yoga.
