In Wimbledon Tennis, the final in Men’s Singles category will be played today between world number 2 Novak Djokovic and defending Spanish champion Carlos Alcaraz at the iconic Centre Court of the All England Club in London. The match is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM IST. This is Alcaraz’s second appearance in a Wimbledon final while Novak Djokovic is a seven-time champion. The Serbian all-time great Djokovic will look to equal Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon men’s singles titles.
While in Mixed Doubles final, seventh seed Polish-Taiwan pair of Jan Zieliński and Hsieh Su-Wei will be up against Mexican duo Santiago González and Giuliana Olmos this evening.
Meanwhile, the Kensington Palace office has said that Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton will attend the Wimbledon Men’s final as she recovers after being diagnosed with cancer. The local media has reported that she will also present the trophy to the winner of the championship.
Earlier, Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic defeated Jasmine Paolini of Italy 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 to win her maiden Wimbledon women’s singles title last evening.
