UN Secretary-General calls for a climate solidarity pact between developed and emerging economies to avoid climate catastrophe

United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres has called for a Climate Solidarity Pact in which developed and emerging economies unite around a common strategy & combine resources to address the climate crisis. At the opening of the Cop27 UN climate summit in Egypt on Monday, he said that we can sign a climate solidarity pact or a collective suicide pact.He further said that the proposed Pact would see all countries taking extra efforts to reduce emissions. Wealthier nations and international financial institutions will provide assistance to emerging economies and it will end dependence on fossil fuels and build coal plants and provide sustainable energy to all.
