Strong tremors felt in Delhi, neighboring areas after strong earthquake struck Nepal

Strong tremors lasting several seconds were felt in the national capital region after a strong earthquake struck Nepal. The tremors were felt in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and neighboring areas during the wee hours today. The epicenter of the earthquake was Dailekh in Nepal, about 90 km southeast of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.3 and it occurred at 1.57 am, according to National Centre for Seismology (NCS). The NCS is the nodal agency of the Government of India for monitoring earthquake activity in the country. European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said, tremors were felt over 500 km by approximately 209 million people in India and Nepal. Several users took to social media platforms after the tremors were felt in the national capital.
