In Uttrakhand, the portals of the famous Sikh pilgrimage site Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib in the Chamoli district were opened this morning for devotees with traditional rituals and procedures. Thousands of pilgrims were present at the gurudwara on the occasion of the gate opening.
To ensure a smooth and secure journey to Hemkund Sahib, the state government and district administration have made comprehensive arrangements along the pilgrimage route this year.
To ensure the safety of pilgrims, during the initial days of the journey, only 3,500 devotees will be able to visit Hemkund Sahib each day.
