The Uttar Pradesh government has suspended six officials in the case of the Hathras stampede after the submission of the report by the special investigation team (SIT).
The special investigation team filed it’s report today, which states that negligence by event organizers is the main reason behind the incident. Based on SIT report, 6 persons including SDM, CO and Tehsildar of Hathras district have been suspended.
Aakashvani correspondent reports that the SIT also holds local administration accountable. The two-member SIT also states that a conspiracy is not denied, but in-depth investigation is needed. The event organizers did not make adequate arrangements for the crowds gathered, says the SIT in its report.
SIT visited the accident place on 2nd 3rd and 5th July and questioned about 125 people to file it’s report. Based on the report the government suspended SDM, Tehsildar, Circle Officer, SO and two other Police officers of Sikandra Rau.
Referring to the recent murder of the BSP state president as extremely unfortunate, Dr. Murugan said that the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu has deteriorated.
He alleged that approximately 2,000 cases of atrocities against Dalits are registered in the state every year.
