In Ladakh, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiran Rijiju, has outlined significant development plans for Ladakh in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a threefold acceleration of developmental efforts during his third term. During the Beneficiary Interaction Programme of the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) at TFC Kargil, Minister Rijiju highlighted several key initiatives aimed at enhancing the socio-economic status of minorities in the region. He announced the establishment of a cultural centre in Kargil, designed to promote and preserve the cultural heritage of minority communities. This centre will be developed in collaboration with an educational institution, providing both cultural and educational support. During the programme he handed over a sanction letter for INR 10 Crores under the NMDFC to Safdar Ali, General Manager of SIDCO Ladakh.
The Minister interacted with beneficiaries of the NMDFC schemes, expressing his personal commitment to the development of Ladakh. He assured the community that their suggestions and demands would be addressed, with plans to announce a special package for Kargil during his next visit.
