Most of the parts of Rajasthan remain in the grip of severe heat waves today. The maximum temperature at many places in the state has increased by 1-2 degrees as compared to yesterday. Barmer was the hottest place, where the maximum temperature recorded was 48 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, day temperature was also measured above 47 degrees Celsius at Falaudi, Churu, and Jaisalmer. Our correspondent reports heat waves have affected normal life across the state.
Due to the extreme heat, normal life has been severely affected across the state. At most of the places in the state, day and night temperatures are being recorded five to eight degrees above normal temperature. In view of the heat in the state, the state government has cancelled holidays of Divisional Commissioners, District Collectors, Additional District Collectors and Sub-Divisional Officers. Also, these officers have been instructed not to leave the headquarters. Administrations in various districts are busy making arrangements for shade, food and water for the common people as well as animals and birds. The Met Department has forecast further increases in temperature in various districts of the state in the next two to three days.
