Several parts of Odisha are experiencing rainfall due to Nor’Wester since yesterday. The capital city Bhubaneswar and adjoining areas, including Cuttack, experienced heavy rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds late last night.
The Meteorological Department said Bhubaneswar received 76.8 mm of rainfall last night, the highest amount in the city this year, followed by Paradip, which received 51.4 mm. Met office has warned about thunderstorm activities will continue till Wednesday. Today, it issued a Yellow Warning for severe rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning activities in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur districts. Alerts have also been issued for 15 more districts in the state.
