With temperatures rising menacingly in Uttar Pradesh and the severe heatwave conditions prevailing, the power demand in the State reached highest ever of 29,820 MW.
This surpassed the previous record of 29,727 MW set on 31st May.
According to the Grid India Power Supply Report, on June 10, Uttar Pradesh achieved the first position in the country by supplying 28,889 MW of electricity, surpassing states like Maharashtra and Gujarat.
The report highlighted that Maharashtra met a demand of 24,254 MW, Gujarat 24,231 MW, Tamil Nadu 16,257 MW, and Rajasthan 16,781 MW, but Uttar Pradesh’s Power Department set a national record for the highest power supply during peak hours, showcasing its robust energy infrastructure amid rising demands.
