In Gujarat, the Election Commission has undertaken various innovative initiatives to facilitate voters on voting day and increase the voter turnout. Polling will be held for 25 Lok Sabha seats and five assembly seats in the state tomorrow.
Chief Election Office of Gujarat has undertaken various innovative initiatives to increase voter turnout and help people reach the polling booth without hurdles. As part of its intense voter awareness campaign Flash Mobs, and Run for Votes were organized in the state. CEO P Bharati sent around 20 lakh invitation letters to women voters in 13 thousand polling booths which had witnessed less women turnout compared to men in the last assembly elections. Commute app, Rapido, has launched a unique initiative “SawaariZimmedariKi” in collaboration with the Chief Electoral Office of Gujarat under which Rapido will provide free bike taxi rides to voters after voting in major cities such as Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat and Anand on the day of polling. To give virtual experience of polling booth and voting procedure to the first time voters, the CEO office in collaboration of GTPL has also launched Election Meta Verse.
