Voting peacefully completed in four parliamentary constituencies of Jharkhand today. Voting took place in Khunti, Lohardaga, Singhbhum and Palamu parliamentary constituencies from 7 AM to 5 PM. According to preliminary data, about 64 percent voting is reported in the state. While talking to journalists, State Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar said that the voting process went very smoothly today.
There has been bumper voting in Khunti, West Singhbhum and Budha Pahad areas of Garhwa district which were once Naxal affected areas. Women have also actively participated in the celebration of democracy. In many booths the voting percentage of women has been higher than that of men.
