The Kallakurichi Hooch tragedy issue rocked the State Assembly session today. As soon as the Assembly began, the Opposition AIADMK members demanded a discussion on the issue. AIADMK members in black dress trooped into the well of the house holding placards demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister. The Speaker said that he would allow the discussion during the Zero hour. As the Opposition continued with their protest, the Speaker ordered the Marshalls to remove them from the Assembly. Later the Speaker said that they would be expelled for a day. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin appealed to the Speaker to let them in for discussion. State Opposition leader E.Palanisami said that the Party has boycotted the discussion today. He criticised the DMK over the Kallakurichi incident and blamed the ruling party for being inefficient.
