The Monsoon session of the Maharashtra legislature will begin in Mumbai today. Addressing a press conference on the eve of the session yesterday evening, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the Mahayuti Government has proved to be a strong and decisive government that has worked for the benefit of all sections of the society. Opposition parties boycotted the customary tea party yesterday. Addressing a joint press conference, Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Vijay Wadettiwar alleged that the current state government has been formed unconstitutionally and is anti-farmer, anti-student and anti-youth. The session will continue up to 13 July where, apart from other important business, the Mahayuti government will present the state budget tomorrow. The House will sit on Saturday, 29th June as well despite it being a public holiday. The session is expected to be a stormy one with the opposition, bolder after its recent electoral gains in the General Elections, is set to question the government on issues related to farmers, unemployment, paper leaks, deteriorating law and order and Maratha reservation among others.
