As the 18th Edition of the Mumbai International Film Festival ‘MIFF’ is set to drop the curtain today, anticipation about the coveted Golden Conch award for Best Documentary Film is on the rise among the cinephiles in the city. The award of 10 lakh rupees will be conferred at the National Centre for Performing Arts in the closing ceremony this evening.
Fourteen films including three Indian entries are in the race of Golden Conch this year. Along with this, the Best International Short Fiction Film and Animation Film will be honoured with a Silver Conch award and a cash prize of 5 lakh rupees each. Apart from this, a Special Jury Award- Pramod Pati for Most Innovative/Experimental Film will be given today, along with three technical awards including Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Sound Design in both National and International Competition sections.
