The Mumbai Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall across some places in Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra in next five days. Rail traffic has been suspended following landslide outside a tunnel between Vinhere (Raigad) and Divan Khawati (Ratnagiri) stations. The efforts to clear the debris are still continuing.
The IMD issued a red alert to Raigad district in Maharashtra while Orange alert to Palghar, Ratnagiri, Thane, Mumbai Sindhudurg, Pune, Satara, Kolhapur, Parbhani, Hingoli, Amravati, and Wardha districts. The National Disaster Response Force has deployed one team each at Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vasai, Thane, Mahad, Khed, Chiplun, Kolhapur, Sindhudurg, Sangli, and 3 teams in Andheri and 1 Team in Nagpur. The local administration at every level is well cautious and ready to prevent from potential hazards.
