In Maharashtra, voting will be held on 11th August for the by-election of vacancies in various Nagar Parishad and Nagar Panchayat. The State Election Commission has declared by-election for 11 vacancies in various Nagar Panchayat and one Nagar Parishad at the same time, on August 11.
The commission will held by-election for the vacancy of the post of Direct Chairman of Hathkangale Nagar Panchayat of Kolhapur district. In Khalapur, Pali (district Raigad), Niphad, Surgana (district Nashik), Bodwad (district Jalgaon), Dhadgaon-Vadfala-Roshmal Bu. (district Nandurbar), Kawthemahankal, Khanapur (district Sangli), Chandgad (district Kolhapur) and Babhulgaon (district Yavatmal), voting will be held for one vacancy in each of these municipal councils.
At the same time, voting will also be held for one vacant seat of Kanhan-Pipri (District Nagpur) municipal council member. Nomination papers will be accepted between 18th to 24th July. The Nomination papers will not be accepted on Sundays and holidays. The Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on 25th July. Voting will be held on 11 August from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm. The counting of votes will take place on August 12.
