Kolkata Police has imposed Section 163 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, prohibiting the assembly of people and carrying of lathi, any lethal, or other dangerous weapons in Beliaghata and Phoolbagan Police Stations in Kolkata until further order. Meanwhile, different parts of the city witnessed marches and protests by doctors and students today.
Meanwhile, the BJP has demanded the removal of the State Police Commissioner from the post. Addressing the media, BJP West Bengal President Sukanta Majumdar alleged the police commissioner tried to hush up the case. The BJP held a march in north Kolkata today in protest of the RG Kar hospital incident.
