In Goa, an orange alert has been issued by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by strong surface winds at isolated places is forecast for today. A yellow alert is issued from 12th to 14th July.
Heavy rainfall was observed at several locations in the state with moderate rainfall occurring in many areas. The IMD said, squally weather with gusty winds ranging between 35 to 55 KMPH is likely to prevail over most parts of South Maharashtra and Goa coast till Sunday. Fishermen have been advised not to venture along and off South Maharashtra and Goa coast during this period.
