Heavy Rain, Hailstorm Wreak Havoc in Different Parts Of Manipur

Heavy rainfall accompanied with hailstorm wreaked havoc in different parts of Manipur on Sunday afternoon and damaged houses and property rendering several villagers homeless.
 

The heavy rainfall accompanied with hailstorm which blew at a speed of 55 km per hour severely affected various parts in imphal East district, Imphal west district, Thoubal district, Noney district, Bishnupur district.
 
 
According To State Environment and Climate Change Directorate, Tamenglong district recorded the highest rainfall on Sunday with 21.6 mm. The heavy downpour accompanied with hailstorm destroyed several houses, trees and vegetable crops in the state. The heavy hailstorm destroyed the GI sheet roofs, leaving many villagers homeless.  Imphal city was flooded causing severe inconveniences to the normal traffic. Sofar, no casualty is reported during the heavy downpour.
