Life in the entire Rajasthan has come to a standstill due to the scorching heat and heatwave. Today, the maximum temperature in Churu crossed 50 degrees Celsius. More or less similar conditions prevailed in Sri Ganganagar, Pilani, and Phalodi, where the mercury crossed 49 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Kota, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer was also measured above 48 degrees Celsius. The highest-ever temperature was recorded in Pilani today. Our correspondent reports that life has been badly affected by the heat in the entire state.
“Mercury is reaching new heights every day. Due to the scorching heat and heat wave, it has become difficult for people to go out of their homes during the day. Curfew-like situation is prevailing in cities and towns after 10 AM. People are facing a double blow due to shortage of electricity and water amidst record breaking heat. A large number of patients suffering from heat stroke and related illness are reaching hospitals. Along with the government, social and religious organizations are also engaged in making arrangements for shade, food and water for people. Meanwhile, top officials are on a three days visit to districts to make the arrangements better.
