In the Kashmir Valley, an encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces at Modergam village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, this afternoon. According to police, a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area. However, as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, terrorists fired upon them, which was retaliated triggering an encounter. Meanwhile, the gunfight was continuing till the reports last came in.
