Government Model Middle School Biathang Shilikchey, in collaboration with the Block Medical Office Kargil, Ladakh organised a comprehensive School Health and Wellness Programme aimed at enhancing student well-being and promoting awareness about health issues and gender equality.
The event featured Dr. Abdul Jalil, District Nodal Officer for the School Health Programme and BMO Kargil, as the Chief Guest, with Assistant Professor Nasir Ud Din Khafi from GDC Sankoo as the Guest of Honour. Distinguished speakers provided a detailed overview of the programme, highlighting its significance and the crucial role of various stakeholders in its successful implementation. The gathering underscored the need for collaborative efforts to bolster health initiatives within educational institutions.
A key feature of the event was the free medical check-up and medicine distribution, which included the setup of a mobile laboratory, providing accessible healthcare services to the students.
Fatima Sugra, a student at the school, expressed her gratitude for the initiative, stating that such programmes significantly expand students’ horizons and enhance their understanding of important health and social issues.
