A large part of the coastal villages of South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal is in a water-logged condition due to the aftereffects of cyclone Remal. Sea water has entered the fields of agricultural and fisheries. River embankments have been breached also. The weather is cloudy.
Namkhana, Gosaba, Sagar, Kultali, Pather-Patima, Kakdwip areas have been badly affected. The situation in Ghoramara, Mausuni and G-Plot islands are also very bad. Home-stays have been damaged in these islands. Tourism sector has been hit by this cyclone.
