The meeting between Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is underway at the Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad to resolve the pending issues. The meeting of two Chief Ministers gained importance in resolving the pending issues under the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Act 2014.
Along with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and a couple of ministers also attended the meeting. A couple of ministers from Andhra Pradesh also joined. Telangana State Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari and her Andhra Pradesh Counterpart Neerab Kumar besides a few senior officials from both the states also joined the meeting.
Several issues like bifurcation of assets, state-run institutions, power bill dues, and transfer of leftover employees to their native states are likely to come up for discussion in today’s meeting. As per officials, the division of various state-run institutions and corporations of the undivided state, listed in Schedule 9 and Schedule 10 of the Reorganisation Act, has not been completed as there was no consensus over several issues. Sharing of river water relating to Godavari and Krishna also may likely come up for discussion during the meeting.
