Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand, K. Ravi Kumar on Saturday (18th May 2024) said 148 polling personnel along with a sector officer were transported through helicopter in the far flung Latehar and Chatra districts of the state where polling will be held on Monday 20th of May. These 148 polling personnel will be on poll duty at 65 polling booths, he said.
Addressing a press conference in Ranchi, the CEO said that some polling personnel who will be on duty at Latehar and Chatra districts were also transported through train and road with election paraphernalia. Appealing the voters to check their serial numbers on the voters’ slip, he said that it will help the electorate to cast his vote with less hassles and allow more people to exercise their right to franchise. The CEO said that the FST and SST have so far seized 119.5 crore of cash and liquor from various parts of the state.
