In Wimbledon Tennis, Seventh-seeded Jasmine Paolini will take on 31st seed Barbora Krejcikova in the Women’s Singles final in London this evening at 6:30pm, India Standard Time (IST). Krejcikova of Czech Republic entered her first Wimbledon final after securing a comeback win over Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina in the semi-finals on Thursday. Paolini of Italy defeated Croatia’s Donna Vekic in a fiercely fought Semifinal to secure her place in the final.
In Men’s Singles, seven-time champion Novak Djokovic has set up summit clash with defending champion Carlos Alcaraz tomorrow. Djokovic of Serbia secured a straightforward 3-setter victory against 25th-seeded Italian Lorenzo Musetti in the Men’s singles semifinal 6-4, 7-6, 6-4 in London last night.
Spanish player Alcaraz defeated Russian Daniil Medvedev 6-7, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinal to reach his second straight final at the tournament. The Spaniard is now one win away from completing the elusive Channel Slam, winning both the French Open and Wimbledon back-to-back in the same calendar year. Alcaraz had also triumphed at the U.S. Open in 2022.
In Men’s doubles title clash, British-Finnish duo of Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara will lock horns with 15th seed Australian pair of Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson this evening.
In Women’s Doubles, second seed combination of Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe of New Zealand will face fourth seed pair of Czech Republic’s Kateřina Siniaková and American Taylor Townsend in the final tonight.
In Mixed Doubles final, seventh seed Polish-Taiwan pair of Jan Zieliński and Hsieh Su-Wei will be up against Mexican duo Santiago González and Giuliana Olmos tomorrow.
