National Women’s Hockey League 2024 Begins In Ranchi

In Jharkhand, the match between Jharkhand and Mizoram in the National Women’s Hockey League – 2024, began today at 8.30 pm at Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Astro Turf stadium in Ranchi. The tournament is scheduled till May 9 among eight participating teams.
 
Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh, Treasurer Sekar J Manoharan among other Hockey India officials warmly welcomed SAI’s Director General Sandeep Pradhan to the inaugural day of the National Women’s Hockey League.
 
Earlier during the day, Odisha defeated Haryana by 4-1 in the first league match. Hockey Maharashtra secured a convincing victory, defeating Manipur Hockey by 5-1 in the second league match. The goal scorers from Hockey Maharashtra were Tanushree Dinesh Kadu and Sanika Chandrakant Mane, while highest goal scored by Manipur was by Devi Laishram Ritu.
 
In the third league match, Hockey Madhya Pradesh clinched the victory in the Final Quarter with a goal from Aashrita Thakur defeating Hockey Bengal by 1-0.
